Are wintertime fish, November through April is prime. These fish do run on the inside but inlets and off the beach are best. Spanish Mackerel are great fly rod and light spinning tackle quarry. Their runs can be blistering. Just south of the St Lucie inlet is a prime Spanish holding area. Oh did I mention ... they are great shark bait!
